Ross brings back some of my most beloved characters of any series I have ever read to continue the adventure toward saving all of Creation from the destructive intent of Perditor. The creator of all things and the destroyer of existence try to maneuver throughout the ages to come out the victor, and Kellan now realizes just how long of a game he is embroiled within. He and Margaret Karnstein, the Sentinels of Order and Chaos respectively, must support each other in their bid to keep shut the gates of oblivion by redeeming the most unlikely of adversaries: the Devil himself.
I cannot wait for you to dive into this story. Whether you listen to the audiobook or just read the print version, Robert W. Ross writes truly masterful tales with phenomenally outstanding characters. There are no plot devices here. Just fully fleshed out and actualized individuals who live and breathe in an alternate reality of the author’s design. I love spending time in the booth with these characters, listening to the way they come alive in my earphones when I am recording. I have said it with previous releases in this series and I will say it again with A Scion of Amber Light; the characters that Ross creates are like friends I have known for years. They feel like people that I know and have dinners and game nights with. And even if I have to look up a good half of the obscure cultural references that Kellan utters, I love spending time with him and all his friends in his world.
